A New Year-the Old Testament

For the past four Sundays our class has been talking about the Israelites in the desert.  This is the video we made of those lessons.

King Herod

Herod had always benn mad. Some say it ran in the family. His sons were mad as well. When he heard about Jesus being born, he was terrified. If he was the King of the Jews, what would become of him? He asked the Magis where Jesus was, but they refused to tell him. He decided that he would have evry male child and every child under the age of 2 dead. Once Jesus was born, Herod died soon after and his son, also named Herod, took over. He was the one who questioned Jesus at his death trial.

Law of Human Nature

For everyone who says God does not exist, think of this for a change. You have a sense of right and wrong. It's as if it was just inside of you when you were born. You have a feeling inside of you that we call guilt when we do something wrong. We know when we do something right and something wrong. Who told you the difference between right and wrong? You may say nobody, but surely you don't just magically know something. It says in Luther's Small Catechism that God wrote the law in our hearts. This explains everything! So for everyone who says there's no proof of God, think again.

End of All Things?

A lot of people think that the Earth will end on a certain date because of the Mayans. Lots of people also think that because some person says the Earth will end means that it will. I have "survived" the "end of the Earth" twice in one year if that's true. I have "survived" the "Rapture".
I don't think that the Earth will end on December 21st. There has been many other suposed end of Earth's and nothing has happened! Maybe the Mayans thought that if they just ended on that day, they would have more knowledge by that time to know when the ACTUAL day will be.
The next time you hear of some "end of days", think twice about whether or not it's true.

How To Celebrate Christmas

There are many different ways of celebrating Christmas. Most people put up a tree, bake cookies, and spend time with family, but do they know the reason why? Or are they just doing it because of tradition?
Some other ways you could celebrate Christmas is singing. This can bring joy to both you and others. Another thing you could do, which I found pretty cool, is baking a cake for Jesus. It is his birthday we are celebrating, so why not give him a proper birthday celebration?
Another thing you could do is taking pictures. The more pictures you take, the more memories you make.

Bhuddism

Buddhists believe that there is no god. They don't worship Buddah, they pay respect to him. They also believe in reicarnation. They believe that when somebody dies it isn't the end of their life but another step in their life. They don't usually pray because they don't have a god, but they do have prayer wheels or flags that are supposed to send off good thoughts. They also meditate. Meditation is supposed to help reach enlightenment. It involves deep concentration which takes years to master. To help them concetrate they stare at an object or say the same word over and over again.
