Esther
Esther was a very wimpy woman. It took 12 months for all the virgins to come before the King because they had to go throught cosmetic treatments. She was chosen by the King after his wife said no to him and he got rid of her. So the corination began. Haman decided to ask the king if he could pass a law about persecution. So Esther asked the king if they could have a party and the only guest would be Haman. On the second day of the party, Esther told the king about the law and that she was a Jew. Esther saved the Jews from persecution and also the kind executed Haman.

Do children make good kings?
Joash hid in the temple for 6 years with a priest named Jehoiada. When Joash was 7 years old, he became king! Joash was a good king. He tore down the alters to Baal and rebuilt the temple. After Jehoiada died he turned his back against God. He even ordered that Jehoiada's son, a prophet, to be killed in the same temple that Joash had rebuilt.

Not Solomon's Temple
Solemen had 300 wives and 700 concubines (girl friends).So far what i have been reading in the story of Solemen is that he had become king,also their was these two women who were pregnant and one had rolled over in the night while sleeping and suficated her baby. The other baby had lived and had been born safely.They went to to the temple to talk to the king, these women were the kings only prostitutes. The one with the living baby brought it the other lady wanted to have her baby thats why they were at the temple.One of the guards grabbed a sword and the missing baby lady said,"neither of us will have him cut him in two!" another guard grabbed the baby and the sword went up but the lady with the surviving baby said,"NO! Give her the baby, don't kill him please.Guard give her the baby shes the true mother she would do anything to save his life." The real mother got the baby. THE END

Caravaggio's David with the head of Goliath
Sometimes life seems a little huge. Maybe if we approached it like David...trusting in the Lord. David was the seventh son of Jesse. David was a shepherd for his father's sheep. He faced a wolf and mountain lion and won. He had lots of practice with his slingshot. Samuel came to Jesse to find a new king. After he saw most of the sons he asked Jesse if he had anymore sons. Jesse said that he had one more son and he was out with the sheep. He called David over and god said that David was the new king. He went to Israel to fight Goliath, the ten foot giant. Needless to say, everyone was scared to fight Goliath, besides David. So he went to Saul he he said that he was to fight Goliath. Saul just laughed. But, then he gave David all of his armor. David couldn't walk. So, he took all of the armor off and grabbed his staff and slingshot, went down to the stream and picked up 5 smooth stones the size of baseballs. He went over to Goliath and killed him. Then he chopped Goliath's head off.

Every Grain of Sand
Ruth followed the threshers in the field and meet a man named Boaz. Boaz liked Ruth and so he told the threshers to leave some grain behind for Ruth to gather. Ruth went back to her mother-in-law, Naomi who had changed her name to Mara. When Mara saw how much flour Ruth had made, she immediately had aplan. She told Ruth to lay at Boaz's feet and in the morning when Boaz awoke and found Ruth by his feet, she asked him if he would marry her.

108 braids
Seven was an auspicious number for Samson. He always had his hair in seven braids and never had his hair cut because if he did he would lose his streagth. His mother was sterille and childless and so god told her that she would give birth to a son. She went to tell her husband and he didn't beileive her so god came down and told him. She gave birth and named him Samson. Sampson grew up to be not a very nice man. when ever he got angry, he would kill. Sampson was born a Nazarite but fell in love with a Philistine named Delilah. The other Philistines hated Sapson and wanted him killed so they told Delilah that they would give 1,100 siver coins if she found Sampsons weakness. She finally found that his weakness was his hair. She cut it of as he was sleeping and he lost his streagth. He never learned how to use his power so he lost it.

Bird bread vogel brood
The Israelites were slaves to Egypt but because of God, they became free. However, even though God was so generous with this deed, they complained and complained, although God provided them with bread and birds to eat and water to drink. They refused to go into the promised land so they were banished to the wilderness for 40 years and then they would be allowed back into the promised land. They should have trusted God, but oh well.

Happy Mardi Gras...
I tried to find some pictures or youtube video to post on the blog. People do strange things at parties when they get drunk. Maybe Mardi Gras is not my idea of fun. Oh well, like I will get to New Orleans anytime. I understand the attractions of dressing up, floats, light shows, etc. just too many people for me to handle.
